Indira Umarjee: Bidding Farewell

Immediately after bidding farewell to our final year students last week, CSE department had to arrange for another farewell. This time it was for one of department’s well known faculty Miss. Indira Umarjee who is engaged and as a consequence leaving her job.

All farewells are undesirable and emotional. And this was no exception. Indira is admired by students and appreciated by colleagues a lot. Although she served the department for two short years she is leaving a lasting impression in the minds many students and colleagues.

Indira had a very impressive beginning as a teacher. She had just completed her degree when she joined the department and took up the challenge of teaching to the final year students. What is more interesting is that she voted by the student as the best teacher and had scored more than 90 points in annual student feedback. It is an achievement still eluding most of us in the department.

She is getting married on 11 July 2008. We thank her for all that she did for us- students and faculty and wish her a happy married life.
As fortunate students to have her as your teacher in the last two years, you are requested to record your comments here

My batch('07 pass out) was one of those fortunate classes for having been taught by Indira ma'am. She was definitely a breath of fresh air since we could relate to her to a great extent, and also since she could understand us better.

I hope you have a great married life. And, I'm sure, you will be considered as an asset where ever you go.

My best wishes to you ma'am.

CSE branch is gonna miss her sorely :)
One of the better lecturers in the department. She could make those boring afternoon hours lively. I've learnt the nitty-gritty of Java Programming , thanks to those dozens of examples and "Keep is simple" approach to the subject :)

Best Wishes to you ma'am :)

She is moral when it comes to ia evaluation and attendance.... if she were to be as strict as others( except few) in evaluating ia and attendance, i would have suffered lot in DBMS.... thanks mam.

happy married life, My very best wishes.... :)

Indira mam.. ..A great teacher, She is my favourite teacher .. i know not just me as ravindra sir has rightly said, she is the favourite of most of the students. For our batch (2004-2008), mam taught for 2 years, that is for the enitre period of her stay in SDM ..She is a knowledged teacher, very friendly, cool attitude , knows what to teach-how to teach .. Mam u Rock .. We r going to miss u r classes....
To say few words about our mam.. she is knowledged, intelligent, humble, honest, down to earth, friendly, helping, thoughtful, understanding ....
We have learnt many things from you mam .. Not just from class rooms...
We are happy to hear that Mam's marriage is on july 11 .. Many of us have already asked mam to join the COMPANIES wher we are going to work in banglore :). That is the kind of attachment that we have with our all time Favourite mam.....
I wish you a happy married life and success in your career....
Thanks to Ravindra Sir for creating a context to bid farewell to Indira Mam......

I think our batch is just lucky in getting such a great teacher. She kept the subjects so simple that any dull person could easily understand what she was teaching. She was one of the best teachers with Ravindra Sir in last year of engineering career. Thanks a lot mam and My best wishes to you ma'am.

"Simply Simple Teaching" approach is/was followed by our Mam.She is one of the best teacher of all time.I can tell this with confidence because in the past 2years/4semesters I have attended all the classes(170/170) taught by our beloved mam.

Our Mam was Liberal while evaluating Blue books, giving attendance.

The most admirable feature is the friendly attitude towards students.
Infact we think she was more a friend of us than a teacher.

I wish mam will be joining our company Siemens Information Systems Limited.

I think,It is a very sad and emotional moment for us now.
But destiny says its time to bid farewellto our beloved Mam.

Attending Mam's classes were one of the happiest moments in my career, which I will never Forget.

Our Batch went for 2 class trips, wherein our mam could not accompany us.This may be one of the little bit sad incidents that has occured during mam's tenure.

Its really my Hard/Bad luck to bid farewell. But we have to accept the hard fact that happy moments are always shorter in life.

Anyways, Mam "A happy,Prosperous,Healthy and wealthy married life".

Vote For Mam!!!
Madam ege Mata,Students ege alla Hita.

Also few more compliments about our mam.....

We will definately miss the afternoon classes specially.

Also we will miss the cries of students "Maaaaaaaaaaa Maaaaaaam...." asking Mam to leave the class early, before time.
Anyhow Mam always left the class early, before time itself.

Also Mam was our project guide.
She was just Cooooooooool as the guide for our batch.

Mam u r simply Coooooooool personality.

Once again Mam if u never mind please...

"Maaaaaaa Maaaaa Maaaaaaaaaaam......... "
